We recently got an opportunity to listen to the Album titled “Adrift” by Andrew Riley. Andrew Riley is an electronic music composer from Seattle, Washington. The album Adrift features Japanese vocalists Marika, Ami and Keiko Yoshimura [ケイコ ヨシムラ]. The album was released on August 18, 2018.
Versatility is at it’s peak in this album. All the artists featuring in this album has their own style that differs from others that’s why it’s covering so many genres i.e. electronic, pop, indie, Japanese, jazz. The album consists of 10 tracks. Almost all the tracks are written by Andrew Riley.
Even though all the tracks have been done exceptionally well but a couple of tracks took our attentions in particular. The Next Train, Southbound is one of them, the song starts with a melodious and engaging tone. You will feel compelled to listen to the track. The singer has a dynamic and inspiring voice and it has a strong vocal projection.
Raindrop [featuring Marika まりか] is the other one. The track is simply done and not overly complex. The chorus is impressive, the pitch range varies, making it rich and engaging. The song definitely is professional and creative. Taking the album overall, we find it extremely good and Andrew has successfully proved his talent and the music, lyrics and production everything has been done exceptionally well in this track. Overall its a fun listening to the music and I am sure you would put it to repeat mode.
Apart from Bandcamp the album is available on Spotify and iTunes as well. Check it out.
