Arash Behzadi, a Toronto-based Canadian Iranian pianist and composer, the piano is much more than a simple instrument. His compositions embody human emotions from inspiration and hope to mystery and longing. Behzadi has played in Geneva, New York, the World Trade Centre Club in Dubai, the Tirgan Festival in Toronto (the largest cultural Iranian festival in the world) and at the 2015 Pan Am Games in Toronto.
A series of recent trips to Bali, Indonesia, led Behzadi to find unexpected inner peace and tranquility that inspired his music in new ways. In his latest music video for “The Last Sigh” off of his new album “Elsewhere,” Behzadi collaborates with Australian filmmaker Cosmic to capture a rare Balinese cremation ceremony of the wife of the last king of Ubud.
