Today in our interview section we have with us Maxime Carrez, a young French born producer who is bringing Melbourne bounce heat with a unique single and fresh brand of EDM. Let’s have a chat with him.
Twist Online : Please introduce yourself to our readers.
Maxime Carrez : I’m a young French who make music. I’m weird but people often say that I am endearing.
Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
Maxime Carrez : The first one who inspired me to make music was Skrillex, when I was 15. Then I discovered Hardwell, who became famous really fast, and Tomorrowland and I started to make music because I dreamed to perform at this festival.
Twist Online : Tell us about your recent release?
Maxime Carrez : I released 2 original tracks, Dance’ & ‘Feeling Free’ which are both house tracks and I also released 2 remixes, one of ‘Dance’ done by The Human Bass and the other was done by myself for Nick Risk and his track Zenith, it’s a progressive house remix.
Twist Online : What kind of response your music has received so far?
Maxime Carrez : I’ve good feedback on my music but people told me to work on my techniques and mix. I not really work on it, I’m more focused on the artistic vision but it’s something really important so I’ll work really hard on these things to produce tracks with better techniques, I already started with this upcoming release. But honestly, I think sound engineer should do that because it really sucks and a music producer is supposed to produce music, you have to be 100% focused on the production to create good things. But anyway, I will work on it.
Twist Online : What’s the best part of being a music producer?
Maxime Carrez : Girls. Just kidding. The best part is when you listen to the song you created and you love it. Sometimes I ask myself how did I do that without ghost-producers? To have the capacity to create something from nothing is amazing, moreover I’ve fun doing it.
Twist Online : Are you influenced by any particular music genre?
Maxime Carrez : I listen to everything, from Rap to Rock’n Roll, so I’m influenced by every music genre. I like to mix music styles to create a new one. I show it a little bit with this track ‘Pool Party!’, it’s a Melbourne Bounce drop with a melodic and progressive break.
Twist Online : Have you set some goals to achieve as a music producer?
Maxime Carrez : I want to perform at big festivals like Tomorrowland or Ultra Miami but also create my own style of production because it’s something really hard that makes you stand out. Of course, like every artists, I want to share my work with a large audience.
Twist Online : Are you working on any new project?
Maxime Carrez : I’m working on a House song with 2 singers and a rapper. I just want to create something new and introduce my own style of production mixing all the things that I like and that I want to hear in a record.
