Interviews

CHEVY BROHAM IS A HIP HOP RECORDING ARTIST, PRODUCER, FASHION/GRAPHICS DESIGNER, AND ACTOR FROM CHICAGO. WE ARE SHARING OUR RECENT INTERVIEW WITH HIM.

Twist Online : First of all tell us about the start of your music career.
CHEVY BROHAM :
I started rapping in 1999, and recorded my first project with a group called SFL (Soldiers Field League) on the indie label Fed Up Entertainment. After the label folded, I joined CNC (Chicago Network Connected), and did hundreds of shows including opening for Keith Murray. Needing to express my creativity, I left the group and relocated to Atlanta.

Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
CHEVY BROHAM :
Born with a church background, I’ve always been musically inclined but, I was inspired by those mcs that used their voice to affect change and shed light on the inner city.

Twist Online : Tell us about your recently released music video BLACK ILLUMINATI ?
CHEVY BROHAM
: BLACK ILLUMINATI is the direct commentary and narration of the current Black Lives Matter movement. It chronicles racial discrimination, injustice, inequality, and police violence. The irony is, I wrote it in 2015.

Twist Online : What kind of response you have received from the release?
CHEVY BROHAM
: The message has been well received. I’ve gotten alot of positive feedback from the song and video. The visual, shot by LaPolo Films, ties it all together.

Twist Online : What attracts you more, Working in studios or performing on stage?
CHEVY BROHAM
: I hate going to the studio. I try to get in and get out. I love the rush of performing. Its something about being able to control or dictate the vibe the audience.

Twist Online : What’s the best part of being a music producer?
CHEVY BROHAM :
Knowing what sounds I want, and the ability to create something from something else. Like taking a wing, and turning it into a place. Or talking a plane, and turning it into a spaceship.

Twist Online : You are also running an online store Fashion Guru. Tell us a little about your products?
CHEVY BROHAM :
I’m also a Fashion/Graphics designer. Fashion Guru is my apparel company. My online store has a variety of tees, tank tops, sweatshirts, hoodies, face masks and more…..all designed by me.

Twist Online : Are you working on any new project?
CHEVY BROHAM
: I’m currently working on my 3rd Solo album titled HIPHOPCRACY. It’s a dope collection of vibes with an underlying message disguised in melodies. Also, I’m a costar in the film SISTERS AND THE SHRINK, which is now available on Amazon Prime.
