Twist Online : First of all please introduce yourself to our readers?
Matthew Rapp : My name is Matthew Rapp. I am 21 year old singer, songwriter and producer from Henderson, NV. I really discovered my love for writing and playing music in the early months of 2014 and have been pursuing a career of it since.

Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into this music?
Matthew Rapp : I really felt inspired by a lot of things. I was in a complicated relationship at the time with a girl who really helped show me how much I loved music & really inspired me to write. I also have been extremely fortunate to have a very supportive family and super talented, musically-oriented friends who helped me grow as a musician.

Twist Online : You recently released your Debut EP “Listen” tell us about that?
Matthew Rapp : The Listen EP consists of 5 original songs. The whole project, from start to finish, took about a year to finish. I went through a lot of up and downs through the process that really delayed the release, but I grew so much as a person and as an artist during the process, as well. I brought a few friends to help me produce the 5 songs to make sure all 5 songs were up to their potential. I’m super stoked about it and really enjoying the results of the EP.

Twist Online : What kind of response the EP has received so far. Any particular song getting more attentions?
Matthew Rapp : I really am getting a lot of positive reviews about the EP so far. I feel truly blessed by how many supporters and fans I do have and how many more I’m gaining after the release.
As far as any song being a more favorite than others, it’s hard to tell. From what I’m hearing and seeing, “Let Me In” and “Wrong” seem to be the favorites of the 5 songs. But honestly, the whole EP is so diverse, it really just depends on the person listening.

Twist Online : You also released music videos of two of your videos.Any plan of videos of other 3 tracks as well?
Matthew Rapp : Yes, I released 2 music videos so far featuring 2 songs off the ‘Listen’ EP. Both of the videos blew my expectations. Kelso and Chris did such a great job with filming the videos.
I do not plan on releasing anymore music videos featuring any songs from the ‘Listen’ EP. They are amazing to create, but I don’t feel like the other songs really need a music video. But you never know, something might come together.

Twist Online : What’s your favorite music genre?
Matthew Rapp : Hmmm.. Favorite music genre…. I love a lot of music. Sometimes I’m in the mood for Top 40 music. Sometimes I’m in the mood for folk music or even alternative-rock music. Depends on the day, honestly.

Twist Online : Have you set some goals to achieve as a music artist?
Matthew Rapp : Yes. I feel like if you want success in anything, you really need to set goals & reach to achieve those goals. Some goals I’ve set for the near future is to really set out to play more shows in and out of my hometown, Las Vegas. Also, to release a single soon. So stay tuned for that!
Some long term goals… To just make a career out of my music. Nothing would be better than to be able to live my dream and for my dream to help inspire others and to help support my future family.

Twist Online : Are you working on any new projects?
Matthew Rapp : Currently I am working on several things. A lot of collaborations with other artists and musicians, More cover videos, more original music in the works, radio airplay, music placement into commercials, tv shows, movies, etc. A lot of things are in the works right now. I just have to remain persistent, continue trying to improve as an artist, and to continue to have faith that this music thing will work out for me.

Have your say
