We are sharing here our recent interview with a very talented Boy Junior. He has recently released a new album titled “Angels vs Demons” and a recent single titled “It’s on Me”.
Twist Online : Please introduce yourself to our readers.
Boy Junior : My name is Boy Junior, I’m 24 years old from Whittier California. I’m an Artist, Producer, and Engineer. I am a proud Mexican raised by immigrant parents who came to this country to a better life. Till today I have written, produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered every single one of my songs under my name; you can say I’m a one-man team. My passion for music is in the genre of Hip-Hop and Reggaeton (a Spanish influenced genre originating from Puerto Rico), because I appreciate the culture that comes with it and the roots of how these genres came about.
Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
Boy Junior : Music has been in my family since I could remember. Many of my uncle’s from my dads side have been professional/famous musicians for 30+ years now, playing in Mexican Bands since the 80’s, so the love for it is in my blood. What influenced me into the genre of Hip-Hop are artists like Eminem, Dr. Dre, Pharrell, The Dream, Logic, and many more for the lyricism and production of their music to raise the bar. Being passionate in all three aspects of it, writing, producing, and engineering has made me a more well-rounded artist that understands all areas of this craft. I just recently started producing Reggaeton music to fuse my Spanish speaking people into my fan circle, although I’m mixing the Spanish and English language into my songs to create something new and possibly a new trend. Artists like Daddy Yankee, Don Omar, Justin Quiles, Nicki Jam, and many more have influenced me in jumping into this Reggaeton genre.
Twist Online : Tell us about your recently released album ‘”Angels vs Demons”?
Boy Junior : The album consists of 14 tracks in many different styles of Hip-Hop that speak on various topics from love, to real life issues and events, relationship problems, haters, family, and much more. It’s truly a well-planned out project that doesn’t fall short of telling you a story or leaving you with a message that you can relate with. I write all my music with the hopes of motivating, inspiring, or influencing others as well to follow their dreams just like me.
Twist Online : What kind of response it has received so far?
Boy Junior : The love that the fans, supporters, and others who ran across my music has been amazing. From my first EP to now, the progress is visible and I can’t thank everyone enough for what they’ve done for me. You can check out the album now on Itunes, Apple Music, Spotify, and many more platforms online.
Twist Online : You also released a single “It’s on Me”. What’s the inspiration behind this song?
Boy Junior : The meaning behind this song was inspired by a female who’s very important in my life. She has been through some of the hardest and roughest times being raised in a ‘ghetto’ area never having the things that her friends or others had during that time. As she got older she worked on her dreams and not being just another statistic in the city or another female who never made it out. Today she is a successful women and a inspiration to other young ladies who wish to get out of the city and become something in life. In honor of that, I wrote this song to pay homage to her work and dedication and let her know that no matter what I will always have her back.
Twist Online : Tell us about your music company BJM. It’s for your own music or you are open to other artists as well?
Boy Junior : BJM was started in 2010 when I decided to become an artist and release my own music. The original meaning was Boy Junior Music but I didn’t want to limit the brand to just music or myself so now its just BJM. I hope to establish the name as a brand in music, clothing, production in TV & Film, and many more things that pertain to the Entertainment Industry. At BJM we are always open to working with other artists or companies to create quality products to the public.
Twist Online : We came to know you are about to launch a line of clothing. Can we have the details?
Boy Junior : The line of clothing is set to drop this summer with a variable of products from t-shirts, crop tops, sunglasses, socks, and any more all in a very modern urban style. There will be a variety of designs to choose from all available at our online store set for launch in the summer.
Twist Online : Have you set some goals to achieve as a music artist?
Boy Junior : My ultimate goal is to become a well-respected artist in the music and entertainment business. Many artists make music simply for the love of it, but you can’t live off of nothing as I’ve learned that over the years. With music comes the business aspect of it, which I hope to have established BJM as a respectable brand in the years to come and be able to live off of what I love.
Twist Online : Are you working on any new project?
Boy Junior : Yes, I am currently working on a new album set to drop this summer as well along with the clothing line. My newest single “It’s on Me” was just a teaser to what’s to come in the following months. New singles will be dropping soon before the official release of my new album which I don’t have a title for yet. Stay connected with me by searching Boy Junior Music and connecting with any platform of your choice.
