We are sharing our recent interview with singer and songwriter Ben Acors
Twist Online : First of all please introduce yourself to our readers.
Ben Acors : My name is Ben Acors, Iʼm 32, married and I live in Weirton WV. I grew up in Virginia Beach, and spent the first 20 years of my life there. I moved to the Ohio Valley in the spring of 2007, and I have been here ever since. I am a professional signed artist/singer and songwriter. I have a Masters in psychology and am actively serving in a leadership capacity at New Life Church in Weirton, WV, and they have been such a big part of my life and musical success.
Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
Ben Acors : I have always been a big fan of MercyMe, Bart Miller‘s testimony has always spoken to me. I feel like me and him have chased the same dream. I have been blessed with the ability to sing and play guitar, and I have always known even at such a young age that my calling is a career in music.
Twist Online : Tell us about your recent release ?
Ben Acors : Take my Life got released by LBMRecords March 1st of this year. The album is faith inspired and has positive and encouraging songs that are upbeat and fun. Itʼs Available on iTunes, Spotify, iHeart Radio, and also physical CDs are available as well.
Twist Online : What kind of response you have received from the release?
Ben Acors : It has been nothing but overwhelming positive response. The album has been a major success from the feedback that I hear. Both my label and myself are very pleased with how good it has been doing.
Twist Online : Whatʼs your favorite music genre?
Ben Acors : I have always been partial to the punk rock scene. Blink-182, MxPx, Green Day, Sum-41, etc. Those are the bands I grew up on, and with growing up in Virginia Beach, VA, the skater scene and punk rock scene was very abundant so I guess you can say my heart has always been there. But Iʼm open to all genres, praise and worship is my main genre that I perform in and besides punk, is my favorite genre.
Twist Online : Whatʼs the best part of being a music artist?
Ben Acors : Seeing how God works, watching the responses from my fans, knowing my music is making a difference in their lives. Nothing better than that.
Twist Online : Have you set some goals to achieve?
Ben Acors : Yes. Currently Iʼm working on getting more exposure, more traction. Which it seems to be moving in the right direction. God has been so good. Iʼm also working on my second album with my label, set to release sometime next year.
Twist Online : Are you working on any new project?
Ben Acors : Currently my 2nd album, which I donʼt wanna give away too much at this point because itʼs so early in the game, but it will be releasing sometime next year. Iʼm thinking Q1 or Q2 next year.
