Today on our Hot Seat we have multi-talented artist STAJE with us. Let’s have a chat with him.
Twist Online: What first got you into this profession?
STAJE: Just being able to have my own voice and talk about anything that I feel I need to get off my chest. Listening to other artists speak their truth just helps me find it within myself to do the same. Everything is a story.
Twist Online: Who inspired you to make music?
STAJE: My uncle Willie Payne Jr aka Kevlar RIP! He was the goat of my family. Started doing music later in his life and actually opened up back in the days for cash money when they just started off. Really looked up to that guy. Just following the footsteps of my family is great.
Twist Online: How would you describe the music that you typically create?
STAJE: I would say it’s the nature of my life. Most subliminal messages but definitely 100% truth in my music. I don’t talk about things I haven’t done! I haven’t killed anyone but I’ve sold Ibs and Ibs of weed. That doesn’t make me cool but is just what I went through in my life so far. Most music derives around sexual relationships I’ve had, heartbreak, and “from the mud” talk!
Twist Online: Our readers would like to know more about your track “Keisha”?
STAJE: Ahhhh! First off thank Taylor Maid Production for the track! He gave me this vibe after one of my other studio sessions with him. Truly an amazing talent! The story behind Keisha is actually with a friend of mine. I’ll leave him anonymous but long story short one day he brought this girl to our studio session. She was dope but you could tell she was out there. Well after our session was over we all went out to eat. Got to know her a little more during that time. Since she drank someone had to take her home. Obviously it would be my friend since he brought the girl but she actually stayed near me. I took her home and she invited me in because I had to use the restroom. One thing led to another and next thing I know our clothes are off! Fortunately nothing ended up happening because it just didn’t fit! Literally.
Twist Online: The success of this track must have pumped up your passion for music?
STAJE: Hell yeah! Man I used to sit on my couch wishing and praying that it all just happens! I had no vision for this. It took a lot of work to reach this level in my music career. A lot of people I had to let go of who didn’t believe this moment could happen for me. This is only the beginning! I’m not a 1 hit wonder! We got 100s of songs that are packaged and ready. I’m here for years to come.
Twist Online: Who would you most like to collaborate with?
STAJE: It would be dope to collab with Lil Baby. He’s the hottest artist in the game period. I show respect to all artists in the game. It’s hard to get here man. But to get where he got in the amount of time he didn’t was crazy. Just proud of the young goat doing his thing! Would be a classic if we both had our tone on one track. Straight classic!
Twist Online: What’s up next?
STAJE: I’m releasing Keisha music video on August 14th. Music video was shot by Deproductions which is owned by Johnny the great. We shot this in Brentwood, California It’s crazy! Also releasing a new single soon. It’s ready but I can’t speak too much on it! Just know it’s definitely going to take over the fall. I’m just trying to get the people through all the seasons! Keisha took over the summer! Now we have to do it all again for the fall.
Twist Online: What is one message you would give to your fans?
STAJE: I just want to say thank you! Like thank every person who believed in me and who didn’t believe in me! It made me a beast! Thank you to all my ex’s, my family, my friends. Thank you Bez from Universal, man I wouldn’t be here literally if it wasn’t for this man. Straight plug! Obviously thank you to the man upstairs without you who am I… If you have a passion for something dive deep into it and don’t let anyone take you from your passion. Go hard and stay committed! It will come for you.
