Twist Online : First of all please introduce yourself to our readers.
MIKE CAN DREAM : My Name is Michael Cabrera aka Mike Can Dream I am born and raised in Yonkers NY, I’m 21 years with an associates degree in journalism, currently working on my bachelors and masters in early childhood education. I’ve been making music for almost 3 years and been able to do amazing things in a short time like open for def jam artist Dave east and more.
Twist Online : Who or what inspired you to get into music industry?
MIKE CAN DREAM :There are many people who have inspired me because I do listen and appreciate all genres and fascists of music but my biggest inspirations are Michael Jackson, Quincy Jones, DR Dre, Jay-Z, Nas, J.cole, Biggie smalls, Dave east , the Lox and so many others.
Twist Online : Tell us about your recent release?
MIKE CAN DREAM : my recent release was my tracks called New Year New Me and Real Feels which you can find on my soundcloud (M.C.D Mike Can Dream) New Year New me is just as it says in the title it’s a new year so u want to enjoy new memories find new opportunities to better yourself but also feel New success and accomplishments. My other Track Real feels to me is one of my greatest and truest bodies of work, the nickname I gave that track is the queen anthem because I speak on how I see a female and how many females are queens and if we just start trying to love the little things and treat women right then I feel more relationships will come about men and women will become more open about their feelings and more love will be spread.
Twist Online : What kind of response you have received from the release?
MIKE CAN DREAM : the response for Real Feels was just amazing I kept getting so many messages from women on how they love the Pureness of the song how they can envision at like they are having a convo with me and I’m expressing how they are queens and deserve nothing but spoils and love and joy and even guys messaged me and said you have a real record for the women and for the guys to show it’s ok to be kind and love people and show your emotions to a females who’s one in a million to you.
Twist Online : What attracts you more, performing on stage or working in studios?
MIKE CAN DREAM : What attracts me more honestly is performing, I love being in the studio and creating and being around my producers and engineers to make magic but the real joy comes from the reaction of people not only vibing to my music but singing it with me dancing to it letting me know I’m a real talent and that I’m next up and a light of hope for Yonkers NY.
Twist Online : Tell us about your upcoming shows.
MIKE CAN DREAM : As of right now I have no upcoming shows as of this moment I really want to just get in the studio work on singles and get back to doing interviews and getting my name out like that and doing music videos plus I am working on my debut album right now but shows will be coming around March I will say that.
Twist Online : Have you set some goals to achieve?
MIKE CAN DREAM : Some goals I have are to perform at SOB’s, to get my 3 singles to over 2,000 plays, to get on the source magazine and a major radio show, and to get signed by defjam.
Twist Online : Are you working on any new project?
MIKE CAN DREAM: As of right now I have my new single We Got The Juice that’s being released on February 2nd and after that I have three more singles coming out in the coming months.
