Conversation with Caleb from Blood Sun band

We recently had a conversation with Caleb from Blood Sun Band. Sharing it with our readers here.

Twist Online : First of please introduce yourself to our readers?
Caleb : My name is Caleb, I play drums and provide vocals in the band Blood Sun.

Twist Online : Who or what inspired you start this band?
Caleb : We all grew up with a passion for music. Obsession is a more fitting word to describe it. We started playing together at 16, and we didn’t put too much thought into it. All we knew is that we loved jamming to our favorite songs, so we did just that.

Twist Online : You are about to release an Album. Our readers would like to know more about it.
Caleb : It is culmination of a lot of hard work, and we are really proud of it. Conceptually, it touches on a lot of relevant topics surrounding the current times. I’m excited for people to hear it on April 20th.

Twist Online : Thanks for having us have a listen to the tracks, all the 6 tracks are done exceptionally well. we particularly liked “Downfall” and “Revelations”. We would like to know the inspiration behind these tracks?
Caleb : I’m glad you enjoyed them! Downfall touches on the mindsets of people in power, and how a few irrational decisions can topple an empire overnight. Musically, it is one of the first pieces that we ever wrote as a band. It’s simple, and straight to the point. Revelations is reflection on climate change, and how we have decided to ignore the facts and carry on as if nothing was wrong. We knew the outcome all along, yet we were selfish enough to continue. Revelations is about facing those consequences.

Twist Online : We also loved the music and vocals of ‘Mindsweeper’. Credit of putting so much energy behind this track goes to?
Caleb : I believe that credit can be equally distributed between the three of us. We only really know one speed, and that is full speed ahead. We push each other constantly, and Mindsweeper is the direct result of us pushing ourselves to write outside of the “box”.

Twist Online : Now coming to your choice, which one of these tracks is your favorite?
Caleb : Personally, I love the song Coven. I feel like this song is the three of us at our best, and it is so far outside of our typical wheelhouse. It’s very dark and eerie, and definitely shakes up the dynamic of the album.

Twist Online : What kind of response are expecting from the release?
Caleb : Personally, I try to go into these things with no expectations. We are going out on a long tour the week after the album drops, and we’ll be playing it live to many cities across the US. So we will see exactly how they respond!

Twist Online : And in the end our readers would love to know about your month long tour?
Caleb : Certainly. The tour starts April 27th in Flint, Michigan. We will be supporting the band Mushroomhead, and there are many killer bands touring with us. Including VYCES, VentanA, and Gabriel and the Apocalypse

Twist Online : What attracts you more, performing on stage or working in studios?
Caleb : Definitely playing on stage. Playing to a room full of people who are digging your music is the highest of highs for me. It’s a rush that you could not get from any drug. It is certainly a crazy experience to work hard in the studio, and listen back to your creation. But it holds no bar to performing live.
