Conversation with singer & guitarist Sevy Campos
Today on our Hot Seat we have music artist Sevy Campos with us. Let’s have a chat with him.
Twist Online : What first got you into music?
Sevy Campos : I was discovered by Nicolas Reyes, the famous leader singer of The Gipsy Kings. They are from the same hometown as me. I was very young when he encouraged me to play guitar and guitar. I followed first their footsteps as I was singing in Spanish for many years before changing to English.
Twist Online : Who inspired you to make music?
Sevy Campos : Well, I observed around me very young.. and I decided probably that I wanted to change the world. Now I have understood that I could maybe not, but at least I am sure I can leave a trace. Every day, people are telling my music is making them happy, and that´s what makes me proud of all the work I do. I Just wanna make people feeling something nice when they listen my music. I want them to forget their life for a moment. Music is entertainment.
Twist Online : Tell us about your recent release ?
Sevy Campos : I released last year a track called “Are we happy”. I was very happy to feature in that track the son of Nicolas Reyes called Georges Reyes. He is the new generation.
Everybody can listen to that song on Spotify or Youtube.
Twist Online : What kind of response you have received from the release?
Sevy Campos : People love it. They love the blend between his singing and mine. They love the rythm of that song, but also the very present guitars. People continue to download it. The song is aired on on many countries around the world.
Twist Online : What is your favorite song to perform?
Sevy Campos : I don´t really know. Every song has something I like. But choosing is very difficult. All of them really.
Twist Online : What would you be doing right now, if it wasn’t for your music career?
Sevy Campos : I would be maybe a writer. Because writing also can change people´s life. Books can leave a great trace on people´s mind. I have read books when I was very young that I can still remember.
Twist Online : If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?
Sevy Campos : I would rethink and re-evaluate what we are earning as producers, authors and compositors from the streaming platforms as Spotify and Deezer …
It´s very for all the work we do. We bring thousands of fans on those platforms and we are not rewarded to do so.
Twist Online : What’s up next?
Sevy Campos : I will launch soon the first single of my debut album soon and maybe a second single, then the album will be released and I am preparing an international tour.
